This is an example of when things didn’t go according to plan. Finding the right solution for a blogging platform by asking the right questions during interviews. How listening to users tell me the solution they wanted instead of listening to the problem they had gave me a headache. I replaced content and names to protect the privacy and content of the users.
Home Page.Users wanted a way to organize their blog content. They wanted to have different blogs to post their music and family life. It evolved into them wanting different blogs to post about their jazz music, dance music, family life. They wanted more and more blogs which wasn’t the correct solution and their blog space was getting bloated.
Author Page.The authors page shows all their newest blogs as well as all of the blogs they author.
Blog Detail.But then the tag section on their page got a little out of control. Every single era, genre, Everything had a tag. This was an extreme use case and we are working on a solution that will be beneficial for everyone and still work for this particular users.

ImpactWe asked the user to walk us through their blog creation and organization process. This was the biggest learning experience because we were able to see what they felt was the most important and also see what they were trying to vocalize but unable to express.
